Blueprint Helm makes technical wall art — patent drawings, schematics and cutaways of the machines people are obsessed with, redrawn line by line and printed as posters, framed pieces and gallery canvas.
What "redrawn" actually means
Every design starts from an expired US patent or a period technical illustration. It is not scanned, filtered and sold. It is rebuilt as vector linework at print resolution — the masters render at 7200 × 10800 pixels, 300 DPI — so the lines are still clean at 36 inches instead of falling apart.
The title block is the tell. Every print carries its own drawing number, scale and revision mark. It is the part nobody outside the trade reads and the first part anyone inside it looks at.
Are these original patent drawings?
No, and anything sold as one deserves a second look. An original sheet is an archive document. These are redraws — we work from the published drawing and rebuild the geometry ourselves. The conventions that drawing had to follow are set out in 37 CFR 1.84, the rule governing how US patent drawings are made; how a patent drawing is made walks through it properly.
What we will not draw
Anything carrying a live trademark or trade dress. The Empire State Building was on the architecture list and came off it for that reason. What is left is subject matter that is genuinely public — Golden Gate, Brooklyn Bridge, Eiffel, LA City Hall and Griffith Observatory, plus nautical, medical and coffee subjects. Twenty drawings in total, each in cyanotype blue, drafting vellum or ink on white. The three palettes do quite different things to the same sheet.
Which sizes are true to the drawing
The masters are 2:3, and only the 24×36 poster and the 20×30 framed piece are that ratio exactly. At every other size the sheet is widened to fit the print area — the paper and the grid extend, the drawing itself is untouched, nothing is cropped. The sizing guide shows what that looks like before you commit to a wall.
Can I put my own name on it?
Two ways, both by email.
Personalisation — $25 on top of any drawing. We re-letter the title block with a name, a ship or practice name, a date, coordinates. It is engineered into the sheet rather than stamped over it, and you see a proof before anything prints.
Your own patent — from $149. Send the patent number, or your own sketches, and it gets redrawn at the same density as the catalogue. Two revision rounds are included.

What happens if it arrives damaged?
Send one photo within 14 days and it is reprinted and reshipped free. No form to fill in.
